Vancouver and Shanghai Lands Ltd. developed the former “Power Block” site into a new 5-storey building with two levels of underground parking. As part of the re-development, the heritage status of the Art Deco façade of the Burns Building was preserved and incorporated into the new building. Ledcor was hired to reinforce and retain the heritage facade, to demolition the existing buildings and to construct a new structure.

RJ & Associates reviewed the collected data to determine the extent of site contamination, and to formulate a remediation strategy meeting acceptable land use standards. RJ & Associates provided onsite consulting services for soil classification, stockpile sampling for soil re-classification purposes, and tracking of offsite disposal of contaminated soils for treatment at a permitted landfill facility.
